Dr. Jerney graduated from Semmelweis Medical University in 1970. She is a board certified pediatrician, neurologist and pediatric neurologist. She spent two months with a Finnish scholarship in the Pediatric Clinic of Turku Medical University.
Between 1970-2005 she worked at Heim Pál Children's Hospital, and now in the Neurology and Epilepsy Department of the Buda Children’s Hospital of St. John’s Hospital in Budapest. She was titular assistant professor of the International Pető Institute.
Her main interest is epilepsy and the developing brain.
Since 2001 she became a trainer of the European Epilepsy Academy (EUREPA). She was the president of the Hungarian Epilepsy League (Hungarian Chapter of the International League Against Epilepsy), currently she is member of the management.
Her knowledge of languages are English and German.She enjoys music, books, fine arts and travelling in her spare time.
